A handmade, sturdy, robust, long-lasting, and high quality minimalist cat scratching post.
This model is named "Ta-miu", which means "she-cat", as Ta-miu was a very privileged puss that was kept by Prince Thutmose of Egypt in the 14th Century BC. So privileged was Ta-miu that she received her own limestone sarcophagus.
The TA-MIU is made to be robust and long-lasting, with my very special Madagascan 12mm sisal rope which is the best your cat will ever get its claws into. It is fixed to the pole all the way up and will never, ever unravel. The base is wide enough to prevent it from being pulled over.
The Ta-miu comes in three pieces - a base, post, and top section, which all screw together without the need for tools. The post can be unscrewed, turned over and re-attached to give it a couple more years of life.
The sisal rope I use is really good. It's light in colour, dense, heavy, tough, "un-hairy", non-toxic, and produces very little debris when scratched.
The base has eight rubber pads so that it will stay put.
